MOTHER’S DAY WEATHER  ALERT!
LOVE THE COLORADO WEATHER,
IT WILL RAIN, IT MIGHT SNOW OR EVEN HAIL!

Here are some tips to keep your plants, trees and sprinkler systems in good shape!

Trees:  
If it does snow, it will be a wet heavy snow. The best thing to do is shake your tree limbs to get as much of the snow load off as possible.  You may get wet, but doing this could save you in the long run.  If you do experience any storm damage, please contact us, we will be happy to help. Please be careful if there are any downed power lines!  Call your electric service provider; Do NOT approach the tree.  It would be safe to assume that these lines are live.

Plants:

Move any potted plants close to the house, and cover with a breathable material.  You can also cover delicate plants with flower pots, milk jugs, plastic totes turned upside down.  Old bed sheets will work for your larger plants, or you can purchase a burlap type material.  If they are smaller plants bring them indoors.  Don’t wrap the plants completely, let the covering drape so that air will circulate.

Sprinkler Systems:
Mother’s Day  is predicted to be pretty cold! We don’t know for sure if it will freeze in your area, but we always say: better safe than sorry! So we recommend this easy way to protect your sprinkler system from a possible freeze:

Get a cloth or towel, put it over the exposed irrigation pipes, then get a plastic bag, wrap it around, and secure it in place (duct tape works well). This will keep your exposed irrigation pipes safe until the weather warms up again. You can also turn off the water going out to your sprinklers from inside the house if possible.
